
Salvador Bolón Edo, cello

Born in Valencia (Spain) in 1992.
Salvador Bolón commenced his musical studies in Valencia, under Prof. Salvador Novejarque.
He obtained his Bachelor in Musical Performance under Prof. Asier Polo in “Musikene” San Sebastián, Spain. After, he was accepted into the class of Prof. Ivan Monighetti and Prof. Sol Gabetta with whom he studied Master Arts i Performance in Basel Music Academy. From the academic year 2017/18 Salvador studies a masters degree at the Reina Sofía Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid.
He is member of Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Palau de les Arts in Valencia since 2015.
He received masterclasses in Spain, Germany, Austria, Holland, France or Switzerland from cello and chamber music professors as Rainer Schmidt, Sergio Azzolini, Andoni Mercero, Benedicte Palko, Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez Menner, Rafal Jezierski, Emil Rovner, Maria Casado, Reinhard Latzko, Charles Tunnell, Götz Teusch, Enrico Dindo, Ludwig Quandt, Asier Polo, Gary Hoffman, Torleif Thedeén or Ferenc Rados.
Salvador has obtained many international awards in cello and chamber music such as Jeunesse Musicales chamber music prize in 2015, Honour Menction at the III International Chamber Music Competition in Riba-Roja del Turia, First Prize at International Competition for young performers “Ciutat de Llíria”, First Prize at Soloists Competition of José Iturbi, Professional Music Award and Award-Scholarship to the best academic record of “José Iturbi” conservatoire, Regional Professional Music Award 2010 granted by the Generalitat Valenciana.
He has participated in orchestras like Orquestra Filharmònica de la Universitat de València, National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), or Bankia Symphony Orchestra (OSB) always as a 1. Solo Cello. Participating both in Symphonic and chamber music tours.
Activity as a soloist includes concerts and recordings with Spanish National Radio (RNE) with Bankia Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Valencia University, National Youth Orchestra of Spain, José Iturbi Orchestra or Valencia Symphony Orchestra etc. Performing concerts by Boccherini, Haydn, Saint Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Hindemith...
He collaborate as a Cello player and Solo Cello with Basque National Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Navarra Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain or Basel Sinfonieorchester.
His chamber music activity includes concerts and masterclasses in several cycles, concerts and Festivals with Trio San Sebastián (Piano Trio), Cuarteto Crumb (String Quartet) or Duo Bolon-Maldonado (Cello-Piano Duo).
As a member of Trio San Sebastián he has participated in the Internationale Sommerakademie für Kammermusik Niedersachsen en Nordhorn (Germany) and has received lessons from professors Stephan Imorde, Luc-Marie Aguera and Georg Klütsch. With Trio San Sebastián has participated among other activities, in the closing concert of Quincena Musical of San Sebastián, in Juan March Foundation in Madrid and in the Botín Foundation in Santander too, where they played in a live concert for Spanish National Radio (RNE). Since 2012 the Trio San Sebastián is part of Davidsbuendler program to support young chamber music ensembles.
As a member of Cuarteto Crumb he has participated in the Orlando Festival in Holland, with Professor Luc-Marie Aguera (Ysaye Quartet) and memebers of Cuarteto Quiroga. Some concerts included performances at Herleen Theater, Maastrich Bibliothek, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, Teatros del Canal de Madrid or Festival Musika-Musica de Bilbao. As member of the Crumb Quartet, he has been invited by Prof. Aguera to be part of his Quartet class in Paris Regional Conservatoire for 2014 year.
As member of Duo Bolon-Maldonado, he obtained the Chamber Music prize in Jeunesse Musicales competition in 2015. They perform recitals in Festival Turina in Sevilla, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France or Spain.
He has been part of the Academy of National Orchestra of Spain.
He often play in chamber music with artists like Sol Gabetta, Yura Lee, Fabio Biondi, Monika Leskovar, Nicolas Dautricourt, Kristóf Baráti, Esther Hoppe, Bengt Forsberg, Ivan Monighetti, Asier Polo, Gary Hoffman, Benedicte Palko, Itsván Vardái, Elina Grança, Ferenc Rados or Anton Kernjak.
He has been cello Prof. in Sinem in Costa Rica, and has been awarded a scholarship by “José Iturbi” conservatoire, University of Valencia and BBVA Bank.
