- Final concertPianist Benedicte Palko was born in Stavanger, Norway, and is recognized internationally both as soloist and chamber musician.
Palko´s excellent reputation as a chamber musician has given her the opportunity to work closely with several renowned musicians, and she forms duos with violinist Sakari Tepponen and the cellist Lluís Claret. She has given solo-recitals, been soloist with orchestras and participated as chamber musician in Scandinavia, Russia, Letonia, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and United States.
Benedicte Palko is the founder and artistic leader of the “International Chamber Music Festival – Joaquín Turina” in Seville, Spain. She also regularly organizes cultural exchange projects between different countries.
Benedicte has a sincer interest for teaching. She is a member of the faculty of ”MUSIKENE”, the superior conservatory in the Basque country, as well as having her own piano class in Seville. She is invited to give master classes and summer courses all over Spain.
Benedicte Palko completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark, with professor José Ribera. Her debut as soloist in 1998 was received with excellent reviews. By means of a Fulbright scholarship she completed two years of “Artist diploma” studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, in 2000, with Distinguished professor György Sebök as her teacher.
Benedicte Palko has recorded works for piano and violin by Prokofiev and Shostakovich together with the violinist Sakari Tepponen. The CD is released in 2008 by the Danish label “CLASSICO”.
Benedicte Palko is permanently living in Seville, Spain.
