Ruben Fornell was born in 1991 in Linares (Jaén), and begang his double bass studies at the Conservatorio Profesional "Andrés Segovia" of his home town.

During these years has attended masterclasses of Lucian Ciorata, Jesús Espinosa, Joachim Klien, Jorge Muñoz, Dorin Marc, Slawomir Grenda, Nabil Shehata and more regularly those of Tony García Araque and Frano Kakarigi.

He has beena member of youth orchestras such as Orquesta Presjovem, Orquesta Athenea, Joven Orquesta Provincial de Málaga (JOPMA) and Orquesta Joven de Andalucía (OJA)

He is regularely being invited to play in professional orchestras such as Orquesta Sinfónica de Valencia, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Orquesta Sinfónica de Murcia and Orquesta de Almería, among others.

Rubén Fornell has played under the button of conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Asher Fisch, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Antoni Ros-Marba, Yaron Traub, Enrique Mazzola, Christian Badea, Arturo Tamayo, Yoav Talmi, Jean-Jacques Kantarow...

His concerts include performances in countries like Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, England, Russia…

Rubén Fornell started his graduate studies in 2007 in the Baremboim Orchestral Academy in Seville, under the guidance of Professor Manpfred Pernutz.

Since 2008 he has been a member of the West Eastern Divan Orchestra, a cultural project created by Edward Said and Daniel Barenboim, chief conductor of the orchestra.

He is also continuing further studies with Manpfred Pernutz (Double Bass Soloist of the Staatskapelle in Berlin) and Francisco Catalá (Soloist Orquesta de Valencia).
