For the Family of Joaquín Turina it is a pleasure to welcome the second edition of the international Chamber Music Festival which carries his name, especially in the year of the 60th anniversary since the death of the composer.

The high standards of the goals of the Festival, together with the happy experience of the great success it had in it´s previous edition, allow us to have high expectations in this new edition of the Festival regarding the continuation of this initiative, that due to the diversity of its goals should be supported without any doubts.

The fact that an important part of the program of the Festival is dedicated to performing chamber music works of Joaquín Turina will help to achieve spreading these works fully, as well as allowing the performers and students to study what without doubt is the most relevant chamber music production of that time in Spanish Music. In this field Joaquín Turina showed all his technical abilities to be able to integrate music with a clear Spanish flavor within the frames of European composing traditions at that time.

In the name of the Turina Family and myself, I would like to transmit my best wishes for the present and the future of a Festival that strongly supports the performance of the music of this Seville composer, and that has, as the music of Turina, the goal of projecting itself beyond local borders.
