Javier Aragó Muñoz- bassoon

Javier   Aragó  Muñoz was born in Cullera, Valencia. He begins his instrumental studies in the “Sociedad Ateneo Musical” of his home town with Juan Vallés, and then continues at the “Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Valencia”. Postgradute studies he completes with Salvador Aragó, Klaus Thunemann, Marco Postinghel, Daniele Damiano and Brian Pollard.

Javier Aragó Muñoz was   a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) between 1992 and 1996, where he played under the button of conductors such as Carlo Maria Giullini, Bernard Haitink and Mtislav Rostropovich.

He has been invited as solo bassoonist in many European orchestras, among others the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra,   the Symphony Orchestra of   Madrid, the Orchestra of Cadaqués and the Toscanini Symphony Orchestra.

Javier Arago is the principal bassoon of the “Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville” since 1991, and he also performed several times as a soloist with the orchestra.

Also a dedicated pedagogue, Javier Argo forms part of the faculty at the Superior Conservatory of Music in the Basque Country – “Musikene”, where he teaches the basoon orchestral repertoire and wind quintet. He is regularly invited as a teacher in the Youth Orchestra of Andalucia, OJA.

As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of several groups, such as the Ensemble Zelenka, Ensemble Solistas de Sevilla and Trio Pleyel.
